Dr. Chan Mei To

Dr Chan Mei To, a 28-year-old novelist from Hong Kong, recently left an impressive mark in literature and pageantry. She has written nine books, received a PhD in Women’s History at the University of Hong Kong — and sold her first book at 19. 

Dr. Chan has many national radio and popular television shows, as well as lectures on history and writing, in addition to judging writing competitions and helping young writers publish their books, supporting the next generation of authors. 

After competing at Miss Grand International in Indonesia in 2022, she wanted to encourage more young women to participate in international pageants. Dr. Chan, now national director for competitions such as Miss Grand International and Miss Supranational, partners with artists to reveal Chinese arts and traditional dress to the world. Her dedication inspires other people, earning her “The Best Inspiring Women Award 2023” from Indonesia.
