Overview

Melissa Sterry is a globally recognized scientist and thinker, passionate about using science, design, and technology to help humanity create a better world. She has years of experience working on breakthrough projects and’s helped launch unique start-ups. She has won multiple awards for innovation and creativity, including the Mensa Education and Research Foundation International Award. Named a ‘40 over 40 Woman to Watch’ and honored in the Global Women Inventors and Innovators Network Hall of Fame, Melissa is a consultant on the future of cities, architecture, design, media, and more. 

Her research, which earned her a PhD, focuses on building cities that can adapt to big challenges by mimicking natural systems. As the founder of Bioratorium, Labioratorium, and Bionic City, Melissa explores ideas in bio-design and biomimicry, seeking ways to integrate nature’s wisdom into the built environment. She has spoken at over a hundred events worldwide and has been a lecturer, mentor, and editor, sharing her vision and knowledge to inspire others.

Known for her thoughtful, futuristic insights, Melissa believes that studying how nature adapts and evolves is key to creating resilient, forward-looking communities.
