Overview

Dr. G. Hemalatha holds a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Anna University, Guindy. She has 21 years of experience in teaching and research. She has held administrations positions in the calibre of Principal in an Engineering College, Head of the Department, Superintendent of Examinations, Accreditation Coordinator. Currently, she is serving as Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore. To her credit, she has more than 100 publication in refereed journals and Conference Proceedings and holds 5 patents. She has completed two projects funded by MoES and DST-TSDP. The project funded by DST-TSDP was on developing "Smart MR damper for Seismic Resistant Design of Structures" to the tune of 2.57 crores. Six students have successfully completed their Ph.D. under her guidance and 8 are in progress.    To add to her research contribution she is also a reviewer in top journals, DC member for around 10 Ph.D. candidates. During her period of administration, the department has achieved top grades by accreditation agencies and the students have achieved many milestones Nationally and Internationally.
