Overview

Nirmalya Thakur is currently associated with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, United States. His work has explored the intersections of Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, 5G, Natural Language Processing, Robotics and their applications in the context of solving real-world problems to improve the quality of lives of people in the future of Smart Homes and Smart Cities. By working for around 20 conferences and almost as many journals as a reviewer, he has reviewed around 150 papers to contribute towards the global scientific community. He has also been associated with 27 conferences as an organizing committee member. To add to the above, he has published an edited book titled – ‘HCI and Beyond: Advances Towards Smart and Interconnected Environments’. 

The above have led Mr. Thakur to multiple awards and recognitions from the global scientific community. He received the ‘Excellent Researcher Award’ at the 2nd  International Academic and Research Excellence Awards (IARE 2020). Recently, he was inducted to the elite list of Marquis Top Scientists in view of his contributions to research in the field of Computer Science. In 2019, his biography was featured as a worldwide press release by Marquis Who’s Who for his outstanding contributions to the field of Computer Science. He is nominee for the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Indian Awards for Quality & Excellence (IAQE 2020). He has received thousands of dollars in funding to support his ongoing research.

Mr. Thakur is an active member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Interaction Design Foundation (IDF), Association for Information Systems (AIS), International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT) and Association of Scientists, Developers and Faculties (ASDF). He is also a member of IEEE Sensors Council and is associated with 9 IEEE Societies as a Technical Committee Member.

To add to the above, he is a licensed Android Developer for Google Playstore, an Oracle Certified Java Professional, an Oracle Certified SQL Developer, an Oracle Certified PL-SQL Developer, and has completed more than 150 online certification courses related to his fields of research interests.
