Overview

Dr. Poornima Jogi .S walks the path of the Mahatma. When she speaks to the yound NSS volunteers, she says:” whenever I find myself in a moral dilemma, I ask myself: What would Mahatma Gandhi have done in this situation? Immediately, doubts fade away and my path becomes clear”.

Dr. Poornima jogi walks the talk of dedicated service. As state Implementation officer of the National service Scheme, Karnataka, she has spearheaded many innovations and accomplishments.

NSS Contingent Team manager won the Trophy for the Republic Day March-past on January 26, 2017 and were congratulated by His Excellency the Governor of Karnataka. Behind this achievement was Dr. Poornima jogi constant presence, encouragement and minute attention to detail.

Dr. Poornima motivates schools, colleges and universities to take up NSS activities based on their core competence. Under her leadership, one volunteer got National Award, two volunteers got State Award, 3 volunteers got university Level award for outstanding services to Society.

Her achievements are more than anecdotal.  She got National young leader award, 4 state awards for outstanding services to society and one state award for Best lecturer in accountancy. When she took over the charge of NSS in june 2018 the progress was 0 percent. In one year she turned the program around with a record progress of 99 percent.

She is strongly committed to creating an engaging, interactive and supportive classroom environment. She is excited to learning opportunities and invests time in making her classes engaging. Her pedagogical approach includes experiential and discussion-based learning as well as awareness of her students’ learning styles.  She stood out for incorporating creative and effective teaching activities to help students master the material.
