Rajini Lakka

Overview

Mrs. Rajini Lakka, mother of two children was a renowned beautician by profession at Ballari, Karnataka, India. Unable to give wings to her sporting activities at a younger age, took to swimming at the age of 46, at a time where half of us lose interest in life. Now 60years, she has won 80 medals competing at various levels including international levels. She further went on to train herself with ASCA (American Swimming coaching association) & Aust Swim to improve her skill sets in coaching. Apart from coaching & inspiring many women at Ballari, she further diversified to coach differently-abled children without any monetary gains, thus earning the distinction of being only one of her kind. Her repute spread far & wide. Al Jazeera Television the channel had come down to Ballari & made a Documentary of Mrs. Rajani Lakka’s exceptional & exemplary activities. Another feather to her cap is that these differently-abled children have won 115 medals in state, National & international level in Para swimming competitions from 2015 onwards & the number is only rising.  She was also conferred  “sadhaki- 2018” by leading kannada Daily “vijayavani” & news channel “ Digvijaya News”.  She is currently the honorary secretary of Ballari district swimming association & has conducted many competitions for both abled & differently-abled children.
