Uma Avantsa

Overview

Uma Avantsa is a post-graduate from IIM Bangalore and a graduate in Computer Science from Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan. She is a technology enthusiast, an active investor in startups and an avid blogger. 

She has more than 16 years of work experience including entrepreneurship. She has worked in a wide range of industry domains including Supply Chain Management, Banking, Education and Online Media. She has experience in setting up and managing teams, leading management initiatives including post-acquisition integration, interfacing with stakeholders and engaging customers. 

Uma Avantsa, is currently Vice President - Operations at Vimeo Technologies. She successfully completed the post-acquisition restructuring of Livestream in six months with zero attrition. She is also working closely on the Diversity & Inclusion efforts in the organization.

She is also an investor in Aaraat, an EdTech startup, where she mentored and helped start its operations with all-remote working women team. She helped many women re-join professional workforce after a break in their careers. 

She was earlier the COO of Livestream Technologies where she managed and streamlined its India operations, spearheaded its sales function and developed the center as an independent R&D unit.

Previously, she was a co-founder of hubVirt, an EdTech company. As an entrepreneur, she nurtured the company during its initial stages. She looked after the business operations and also contributed to product development.
